In polar Yakut village of Tiksi earned international climate observatory.

International Climate Observatory will operate on the basis of the local meteorological prevailing in 1932.

According Chilingarova, who is president of the Polar fund Observatory in Tiksi became fourth in the Arctic zone and the only one of its kind in the territory of Russia.

Her conjunction with the opening of the start of the International Polar Year, which starts in 2007.

As noted Polar Fund executive director Yuri Sychev, during the years 2007-2008 will be kept here climate observation, in 2009 will begin processing the material, and this will give database, which climatologists will build the world over several decades.

For meteorologists Tiksi, which will be essential work, the transformation of the station in the International Observatory climate means more types of observational equipment and renovation of the park.
